The original Nokia 8110 was famously referred to as the Matrix Phone because it was featured in the 1999 blockbuster movie, The Matrix, starring Keanu Reeves as Neo. Here are details and pictures of the Nokia 8110 4G edition.
Nokia 8110 back then was a high-end phone with a slider in the shape of a banana.
It's is actually a feature phone, back then it's very expensive as it was built for business. The phone’s slider covered a traditional alpha-numeric keypad.
So just the way HMD Global brought back Nokia 3310, the company has now resurrected this one and called it Nokia 8100 2018 Edition.
FEATURES OF NOKIA 8110 4G
Nokia 8110 4G as the name suggests, has 4G LTE network connectivity enabled. It runs smart feature OS a forked version of the now discontinued Firefox OS.
The software has an app store that are available on 30 million devices in India and North America. Also Facebook is working on a way to develop an app for it as well.
There is a small 2.4-inch display as well as a 2 megapixel main camera.
Meanwhile, the phone will come in double SIM and single SIM variants. It can synchronize your contacts, email and calendar, as well as allow you share its 4G LTE internet via a mobile WiFi hotspot.
AVAILABILITY AND PRICE
Of course, you don't expect a feature phone to cost very high in 2018. So while the 1996 version was expensive then, this resurrected version costs ($97, €79, N34,000).
