The Chinese Smartphone company has revealed that the OnePlus 2 Smartphones won't get Android 7.0 Nougat update in an official statement released few hours ago though "Customer service has been telling customers this for a little while,".
In their words: "We’re happy about what we’re doing with software," the statement continued. "We already confirmed Android O will come for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. So [no Nougat for the OnePlus 2] isn’t new and we think people were aware of it."
You might be wondering why they decided to leave this phone behind; well, this is the reason. "When we built the OnePlus 2 we didn’t have the software infrastructure team in place we do now."
So it's not just Tecno phones that are guilty of not get new OS updates pushed to them but here the almighty OnePlus 2 with so much hype when it was launched won't be getting the new update. It's quite unfortunate.

ReplyDeleteBad news
ReplyDeleteNever the less thanks for Your lovely update

ReplyDeleteI would think say that it's a sad news because of the fact no update will be pushed to the said phone
ReplyDeleteI had used GIONEE MARATHON M2 for about 3 years and it was released with Android 4.2.2 and later updated to Android 4.4.2 but never updated again.
ReplyDeleteWe asked for Android 5.0 but never got it and we started porting custom ROMS to it from 5.0 to 6.0
The users of the said phone can still get Android 7 and above via a custom ROM.
ReplyDeleteUsers of GIONEE M2 can testify to the fact we have (including myself) ported lots of ROMS for M2
Now reacting based on the last paragraph, it should be on record that as at the time of this post, TECNO has never pushed any updates to their phones but OPPO have been doing it.

ReplyDeletebut with this sad news I have heard I don't think I can afford any phone apart from tecno because I have seen tecno to be the best phone to me because their products are always good.
ReplyDeleteIf you are of the opinion that TECNO is the best then i will suggest that you should try using a snapdragon powered device
Deletebut I will like to say that version of a phone doesn't matter, because not every will be disturbed about the sad news.and some other user of this said smart phone still used theirs because they see that version of a phone doesn't mean any tin to them.
ReplyDeleteso thanks oga wizy for ur good post.
ReplyDeleteAfter going through all these comments I'm tempted to air out my opinion once again.
ReplyDeleteLet's look at our fingers and we will conclude by saying that all of them are not equal. So lemme now asked, what's bad about a phone not getting the Nougat update?
Bad news indeed, its a must to upgrade legally? No. Upgrade through Custom ROM.

ReplyDeleteT.A , hyped fone for that matter
Tecno also doesn't push out updates tru ota, rather people now intend to download custom ROMS for the device
