People all over the world were surprised when HMD global announced the return of the legendary Nokia 3310 in 2017 and people are eagerly waiting for it to hit the market. The new Nokia device will cost just $50.
Meanwhile, few days ago, the excitement and expectation from most people dwindled when it became obvious that the phone won't be running on Android OS but to residents in the United States, Canada, and other two countries, it was even more heartbreak as the phone won't be supported in those areas. You want to know why? Read on!
Gadgets 360 and The Next Web have published an article to warn mobile users that the 3310 will be unusable in some countries. This is solely because the phone supports only 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands – same as the original Nokia 3310. Those bands are not supported in the USA and Canada.
Other affected countries are Australia and Singapore which are taking down their 900 MHz and 1,800 MHz bands. What this means, therefore, is that the Nokia 3310 will be unusable as a phone in those four countries.
According to the Next Web article “this will render the phone virtually impossible to connect to most present-day carriers.” But the good news is residents in Africa, Europe, South America and Asia – have nothing to worry about. The Nokia 3310 will work perfectly in the areas.
