"Is Buhari Dead?" was the second most searched topic on Google.com.ng on the 21st and even 26th of January 2017 with over 100,000 Nigerians searching for the phrase.
For the past two weeks now, Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari is the most popular Nigerian online according to statistics from google trends.
And over the weekend, rumours started flying around that ‘Buhari has died in London’, though the presidency was quick to deny the claims.
Despite this clarification from the federal government, thousands of people have gone online to search answers for ‘Is Buhari dead?’ – a phrase that has become the most searched item on Nigerian platforms this week. Majority of the searches come from Lagos, Abuja and Port-Harcourt.
At the moment, Vice president Professor Yemi Osinbajo is now active President while Buhari is away.
Recall Buhari departed Nigeria on Thursday, January 19 for a two-week vacation in London where he would undergo medical check-ups.
While the presidency has denied reports on Buhari’s death, Nigerians won’t back out until they see their president back in the country.

ReplyDeleteI think its time this Government and Buhari lead administration sits up and do the right thing. We are tired of this jokes and drama. The president or someone in government should address Nigerians on this matter as this is becoming very embarrassing. newshandle.com
