Stats Reveals Android 7.0 Nougat Is Gradually Taking Over

More Android Smartphones now run Android 7.0 Nougat according to the latest Android distribution table which is calculated based on devices that visited the Google Play Store over the last month.

From the stats, Android Nougat recorded a solid jump in usage. The number of phones with either Android 7.0 and 7.1 installed jumped 45% from April's report. 7.1% of Android devices are running on Nougat compared to the 4.9% that were using it as of last month.

Nougat endured a very slow impact and usage on major Android devices when it was released last year but with the number of new handset launched with the new OS and updates running out for older phones, the Android 7.0 is now getting more authority and popularity.

Even though, the number is still less compared to Android 6.0 Marshmallow that is running on 31.2% Android devices. Still, the Android 5.0 and 5.1 Lollipop is leading the pack with a distribution figure of 32%. KitKat saw a slight decrease to 18.8% (down from 20.0%), Jelly Bean down to 9.1% (10.1%), Ice Cream Sandwich to 0.8% (0.9%) and Gingerbread somehow gained users at 1.0%, up from last month’s 0.9%.
