Recession is no longer just a word, it is the reality and maybe even the future for the next couple of
months. Because of it, the price of every thing including pure water has increased so getting a phone of around N12,000 seems almost impossible now. That is why the discovery of the Partner Mobile KS1 which goes for that price depending on where you buy it came as a big surprise.
At first glance, the flagship phone from the Partner Mobile King Series, KS1 may not seem like much
but that is no reason to totally write it off. After some use, we concluded that it was produced with the intention of doing the primary job of a smartphone and doing it to the best of its abilities without promising anything out of the ordinary.
Let’s get right into the nitty gritty of it all.
Hardware
The first thing to be happy about with this phone is its dual sim support. The camera hardware is pretty basic; you get a 1.3 megapixel back camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. You still
get decent selfies with the front camera although not as detailed as you would get on some more expensive phones. Battery is pegged at 1300mAh and without heavy use, it lasts for a good number
of hours. The screen display is pretty basic 3.5-inch dimension and 320 X 480 pixels capacitive touchscreen.
The internal memory of 1GB capacity can however be supported with a memory card and the phone can take SD cards of up to 32 GB which is good.
Design wise, we are particularly impressed with the look and feel of the phone. It does not appear bulky and it sits well in your palms.
Software
The KS1 comes preloaded with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and can function on 3G. It can also connect to
WiFi as well as create a mobile hotspot. It supports MP3 and MP4 video and this is pretty decent for
a phone in that price range. Bluetooth, GPS and USB connection are also supported. The standard 512 RAM the phone comes with makes pushing the limits of the phone a bit dicey, so run apps with caution if you are going to get this phone.
Conclusion
The KS1 is a smartphone that does the job and doesn’t empty your bank account in the process. It is
available at Konga, Yesmobile, Slot and Partner Mobile Ng.
You can locate any of their retail centers close to you at Partner Mobile
